An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

(Fleet Elementary) Arlington Public Schools - VA - 4.2 Arlington, VA Job Details Part-time $56,458 - $144,723 a year 1 day ago Qualifications School experience Teaching Certification Full Job Description Human Resources announces a position is a 0.5 FTE located at Fleet Elementary School within the Office of Academics. Qualifications Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure. Must have or be eligible for reading endorsement (masters in reading or masters in another teaching area plus reading endorsement). Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required. Experience Three years of classroom experience, preferably elementary experience. Responsibilities Willingness to work as part of a team. Current knowledge regarding language arts research and practice. Current knowledge of language arts materials including core programs, supplementary programs, and children's literature. Current knowledge of both group and individual assessment and how to interpret the results. Ability to lead team meetings and language arts committees as needed. Salary Salary will be based on the
FY2026-27
salary schedule.
