An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description
Duties (include but are not limited to):
- Demonstrate knowledge of subject(s) through instructional practices
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of Common Core State Standards
- Integrated technology use in classroom instruction
- Collaborative model of instruction with interventionist, special educators and special area teachers
- Instructor of Multi-Tiered System of Supports
- Response to Instruction and Intervention
- Document, chart and use assessment information to define instructional groupings which is corrective and informative
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior conducive to an effective learning environment through the knowledge of
Positive Behavior Supports and Interventions. - Shared electronic lesson planning
- Direct and supervise the work of paraprofessionals, volunteers and student teachers assigned to the classroom
- Maintain productive lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues concerning both the academic and social
progress of all students - Implement administrative directives in a professional manner (re: new programs and policies)
- Adhere to all District policies and regulations
