Job Description
Elementary Teacher Needed Location:
Hinesburg Community School This position will remain open until filled. However, applications received within the first seven days of posting will receive priority consideration. Internal candidates will also be prioritized over external applicants during this initial seven-day window. Hinesburg Community School (HCS) is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE), faculty-level Elementary Teacher to join our K-4 general education team starting FY27. We are looking for a passionate, collaborative educator dedicated to fostering a growth mindset and an inclusive classroom environment. Primary Responsibilities Planning and instructing engaging units in Math/ELA (Common Core) and Science (NGSS). Utilizing a balanced literacy program and teaching math through Open Up or Bridges. Tracking student learning through proficiency-based models and differentiated instruction. Implementing Responsive Classroom and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to promote social and emotional growth. Working effectively as a member of a grade-level team to ensure instructional coherence. Utilizing technology to enhance instruction and engage 21st-century learners. Proactively and collaboratively communicating with families regarding student progress and classroom initiatives. The Ideal Candidate Will Possess Current Vermont Professional Educators License with an endorsement appropriate for K-4 instruction. A deep understanding of equitable classroom practices, including restorative models, culturally responsive pedagogy, and anti-bias/anti-racist practices. Strong and consistent behavior management techniques and a developmental understanding of elementary students. Proven experience with differentiated instruction and a high-level problem-solving mindset. A commitment to fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment for all students and families.
