An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

RUTLAND PUBLIC SCHOOLS VACANCY

Elementary Teacher Rutland Intermediate School 2026-2027 Rutland Intermediate School is seeking a professional and child-centered elementary teacher. The applicant must have a strong background in literacy, mathematics, and working within a professional learning community. Experience with Response to Intervention, Restorative Practices, and PBIS will be viewed favorably. Strong candidates will also possess the ability to make formative and data-based adjustments to whole-group and small-group classroom instruction, differentiate instruction effectively, and work cooperatively with colleagues. A Vermont license is necessary. The position begins on August 20, 2026.
