Responsibilities Collaborate with lead teachers and co-educators to design and implement engaging Montessori-based lesson plans that align with developmental milestones and individual student needs Facilitate a safe, nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social-emotional growth Support children's physical, cognitive, and emotional development through hands-on activities focused on literacy education, math, physical education, and overall childhood development Manage classroom routines including behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and respectful behavior among students Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or special education needs Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of student activities and incidents Assist in classroom organization, lesson planning, and maintaining a clean, welcoming learning space that adheres to health and safety standards such as first aid and CPR certification Requirements Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings such as preschool, or private schools Strong knowledge of child development instruction, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies Familiarity with Montessori curriculum development tailored for 4K age group including literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional learning Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners Certification in first aid and CPR; knowledge of mandated reporting laws is essential Level 8 or above on the Registry Degree in Early Childhood Experience working with children who have special education needs or require early intervention services is highly desirable Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining flexibility and enthusiasm for teaching young learners Embark on a rewarding journey where your dedication transforms lives! This position offers flexible scheduling with part-time or full-time opportunities . Option 1:
School-Year Position Hours:
Approximately 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (start time is flexible; 4K class begins at 9:00 a.m. ) Or 8am-5pm some evenings if desired. Classroom instruction is from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The remainder of the day includes wrap-around childcare, lesson preparation, classroom organization, and planning time. This position follows the 4K school-year calendar , with holidays and breaks closely aligned with the Hudson School District schedule. Option 2: Year-Round Position Continue working beyond the school year by joining our exciting Giggle Camp Summer Program . Summer responsibilities include leading engaging activities, participating in weekly field trips, and providing high-quality care in a fun, play-based environment. Summer hours may be full-time or part-time , based on your availability and program needs. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who loves working with young children, values Montessori principles, and enjoys creating meaningful learning experiences both in the classroom and outdoors. Montessori training required DPI certification not required Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred Associate degree in Early Childhood Education may also be considered If you are passionate about Montessori education and working with young children, we would love to hear from you!
