The ideal candidate knows Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and brings to our Academy enthusiasm for early childhood education, a commitment to student growth, and the ability to foster a love of learning. You will play a key role in shaping the spiritual and academic growth of your students while collaborating with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure a Christ-centered educational experience. Duties Design and implement engaging, individualized instruction using Abeka learning materials as part of an overall Christian curriculum for a small class of early elementary students emphasizing reading, reasoning, grace and Truth. Assess student progress regularly through age- and developmentally-appropriate formative methods with an emphasis on the growth of the whole child, providing timely feedback to students and parents. Mentor students individually or in small groups to support early intervention efforts and personalized learning goals. Incorporate library services and educational resources to enrich lessons and promote literacy development. Collaborate with colleagues on Christian curriculum development, lesson planning, extracurricular activities, and other initiatives to support the Academy's mission and see God glorified. Engage in ongoing professional growth related to developing a Biblical worldview, childhood development, tutoring techniques, behavior management strategies, and other areas/topics necessary to provide high-quality Christian education. Requirements Bachelor's degree; degree or certification in elementary education preferred. Proven classroom experience working with children in grades 1-2, including private school settings, Sunday school, or similar environments. Familiarity with working with multi-age or multi-need classrooms; experience in early intervention is advantageous. Ability to manage classroom behavior proactively in a Christ-like manner while fostering an inclusive atmosphere that supports diverse learners. Writing skills necessary for lesson planning documentation, progress reports, and communication with families. Join our educational ministry team in making a meaningful difference in young children's lives!
