Job Description
The Department of Chemical andBiological Engineering (CHBE) in the College of Engineering at the AmericanUniversity of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for Regular faculty position or visiting faculty position at the assistant, associate, orfull professor level commencing in Fall 2027. The applicant is required to have a PhD in Chemical or Biological Engineering or aclosely related field and show evidence of a significant teaching portfolio. Applications with background in BiologicalEngineering/Biomedical Engineering/Biochemical Engineering/Biotechnology are preferred. Excellence in teaching and research, in addition toexperience in the American model of higher education, are highly desirable. The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineeringhas approximately 200 undergraduate students, 15 graduate students, 12 full-time faculty and 3 lab instructors. Students and facultyrepresent very diverse backgrounds and nationalities; approximately 90 nationalities are present on campus. The department offers a Bachelorof Science in Chemical Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biological Engineering, and a Master of Science in ChemicalEngineering. AUS is located in the Emirate of Sharjah (about 15 km from Dubai). AUS is an independent, not-for-profit, coeducationaluniversity, serving more than 5,700 students.
