Job Description

The Department of Electrical Engineering (ELE)in the College of Engineering at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) invitesapplications for a Visiting faculty position at the assistant, associate, or full professor level, commencing in Fall 2027. The position isprimarily focused on teaching and is a one-year renewable contract. The position is open to all areas of Electrical Engineering. Applicants must hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field and be able to teach at both the undergraduate andgraduate levels. Excellence in teaching and research, along with experience in the American model of higher education, are highlydesirable.

Faculty and students represent very diverse backgrounds and nationalities; approximately 90 nationalitiesare present on campus. The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Intelligent Systems and Mechatronics Engineering, a Master of Sciencein Electrical Engineering, and a joint PhD program in Electrical and Computer Engineering. AUS is located in the Emirate of Sharjah(about 15 km from Dubai). AUS is an independent, not-for-profit, coeducational university, serving approximately 5,000 students.
