The Dhanani School of Science and Engineering ( DSSE) at Habib University invites applications for open rank faculty positions in its Electrical Engineering program. Depending on thecredentials, candidates will be considered at Assistant Professor or Associate Professor ranks as appropriate. The program seekstalented faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning, and who are excited about the challenge of reimagining the teaching ofElectrical Engineering at the undergraduate level in line with global developments in the field. Habib University seeks outstanding studentmentors who will be involved in the lives of students through mentoring, student support, enrolment initiatives, and other activitiesrelated to the undergraduate education experience. Fall appointments begin August 1st and Spring appointments begin January1st.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed or must be in the final stages of a doctoral degree in the relevantfield from a leading global institution recognized for its strength in this field. Ideal candidate will possess excellent teaching andscholarly skills, will be able to work with a diverse population of students and colleagues, will enjoy influencing the intellectual growthof their students, will be effective in institutional service, will be passionate about undergraduate research and is excited to work withcolleagues across disciplines. Experience studying in and/or working in a liberal arts environment will be an advantage. Area of expertiseis open, but the candidate should be prepared to teach a broad range of electrical engineering courses including: Instrumentation andControl Electric Vehicles, Power Systems Analysis, Electrical Machines, Electromagnetic Theory, Mobile Communication, Electronics andEmbedded Systems, and RF & Microwave, etc.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include: teaching undergraduatecourses, active engagement in institutional service, professional activities, student mentorship, curriculum planning and review. The annualteaching load is 5 three- or four-credit courses. This position will play a critical role in supporting both the computer science and thecomputer engineering majors at the University. Once onboard, faculty should also anticipate supporting the Habib Liberal Core, acore component of our Liberal Arts education containing four foundational divisions - Humanities; Natural Sciences, Mathematics, andComputing; Social Sciences; and Language, Expression, and Design. As part of this commitment to a student-centric, interdisciplinarycurriculum. Faculty members in electrical engineering are expected to contribute to the teaching and delivery of HLC courses within divisionof Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Computing, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure curricular coherence, academic rigor, andan equitable learning experience for all students.
