An Electrical Engineering Professor teaches foundational electrical engineering ideas, truths, and methods to students through a combination of classroom instruction, lab experience, field experience, and assignments at colleges, trade schools or other institutes. May assist or lead in the creation of the electrical engineering curriculum to be taught. In addition to instruction, they may assist or lead in research initiatives relating to their field.

DESCRIPTION
In this position, you will have the opportunity to prepare and teach courses for the Edmonds College Engineering department, facilitate student learning by using a variety of formats including lecture, discussion, hands-on labs, online resources, and collaborative learning, and develop and implement procedures and techniques to assess individual student learning. The successful candidate will join a department dedicated to the use of curriculum that is culturally responsive to the students it serves.
QUALIFICATIONS
To succeed in this role, you will need either a Master¿s degree in Engineering or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with significant industry experience. You will also need teaching experience and the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English. Examples of teaching experience might include teaching at the university, college, or high school level or a facilitator/trainer position in a professional environment. PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
: Work is typically performed in a classroom which requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Instructors typically use a personal computer in the work environment.
COMPENSATION
: The work schedule is based on an eleven-week quarterly schedule and could vary each quarter. Salary is dependent upon contract load and mode of instruction. A standard five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,387.94 at Step A. Special assignments are paid at $45 per hour, and meeting stipends are compensated per the CBA rate, starting at $55 for meetings lasting from 30 minutes up to 2 hours.
