Position Details Location Hattiesburg 118 College Drive Hattiesburg, Mississippi, 39406-0001 United States Division School of Humanities Position Type Faculty Employment Status Part Time Grant Funded No Pay Grade Posting Close Date Open Until Filled Special Instructions to Applicants Applications for Adjunct Faculty will be accepted on an ongoing basis and will be reviewed as needed. (See Apply Now link above) Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship. Job Summary Adjunct faculty members facilitate students' achievement of course objectives and prepare college students to matriculate through the undergraduate program. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Online and face-to-face course delivery and instruction Prepare and submit syllabi, grades, and other required course documentation in a timely manner Communicate course requirements and expectations to students Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Master's degree (or 18 hours of graduate course work) in English or Composition/Rhetoric from an accredited university Ability to teach effectively (both online and in traditional settings) at the university level Background check clearance Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office software Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. in English or Composition/Rhetoric Experience with online course delivery and instruction Experience with Canvas technology About The University of Southern Mississippi Since our founding in 1910, The University of Southern Mississippi has remained dedicated to preparing students for success.
