All degrees and course work used to satisfy the required minimum qualifications must be submitted and from accredited postsecondary institutions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Masters in English, literature, comparative literature, or composition OR Bachelors in any of the above AND Masters in linguistics, TESL, speech, education with a specialization in reading, creative writing or journalism OR the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee. Commitment to diversity. All applicants must have demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff. The applicant must be able to demonstrate how these factors relate to the need for equity minded practices within the classroom.Desirable Qualifications:
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Commitment to examine, reflect, and modify instructional, relational, and classroom practices in order to effectively engage and support disproportionately impacted student populations with the goal of closing equity gaps. Demonstrated successful experience teaching dual enrollment (high school/college) English courses. Demonstrated experience teaching and supporting special population programs such as Puente and UMOJA with a commitment to their missions of equity, access and student success.Working Conditions:
Salary Range:
$1572.67- $1725.85 per lecture unit rate, $1572.67
- $1725.85 per lab parity unit rate, $1258.16
