Minimum Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Masters in English, literature, comparative literature, or composition OR Bachelors in any of the above AND Masters in linguistics, TESL, speech, education with a specialization in reading, creative writing or journalism OR the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee. Desirable Qualifications:

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Commitment to examine, reflect, and modify instructional, relational, and classroom practices in order to effectively engage and support disproportionately impacted student populations with the goal of closing equity gaps. Demonstrated successful experience teaching dual enrollment (high school/college) English courses. Demonstrated experience teaching and supporting special population programs such as Puente and UMOJA with a commitment to their missions of equity, access and student success.
