Job Description

About PTEC Power Technical is a grades 6-12 school preparing students for both college and skilled trades. We integrate core academics with hands-on learning in construction, welding, machining, electrical, plumbing, manufacturing, and CAD/Engineering. Students apply theory daily through real-world projects using our structured Direct Instruction model with coaching and lesson plan support. Position Summary PTEC is seeking a dedicated English Teacher to serve middle and high school students in a structured, career-connected learning environment. The ideal candidate will engage students in developing strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills while supporting academic excellence across content areas. Responsibilities Teach middle and high school English aligned to Colorado state standards Develop students' reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and analytical skills Monitor and assess student progress Maintain a structured, positive classroom environment Communicate with families and collaborate with staff Participate in required pre-service training and professional development Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English or related field Teaching experience preferred Strong content knowledge and classroom management skills Ability to support diverse learners
