Adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements. Incorporate curriculum development and implementation best practices to ensure alignment with educational standards and regulations. Conduct classroom management with positive behavior strategies, fostering a respectful and inclusive environment for students from various cultural backgrounds. Analyze student performance data regularly to inform instructional modifications and support continuous improvement. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and classroom activities. Collaborate with fellow teachers on curriculum planning, instructional modifications, and sharing best practices. Support students' social-emotional development through culturally responsive teaching methods and behavior management techniques. Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, learning technology, special education, and teaching music or other enrichment activities. Requirements Possess the appropriate teaching certification or authorization in Connecticut Bachelor's degree in Education, ESL/Bilingual Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Prior experience teaching elementary school students in classroom settings is essential; experience working with children from diverse backgrounds is highly valued. Demonstrated knowledge of LMS platforms, learning technology tools, and educational software applications. Strong understanding of special education principles, instructional modifications, and accommodations for students with disabilities. Familiarity with curriculum development, implementation strategies, and standardized testing procedures. Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration. Experience working with students who have varied learning styles and needs; familiarity with Montessori or private school environments is a plus. Ability to manage classrooms effectively while fostering a positive learning environment through classroom management techniques. Knowledge of childhood development stages, behavior management strategies, and literacy education best practices.
