The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida is currently seeking to hire a full-time Middle & High School English Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Teacher must have Florida Reading (Grades 6-12) Teaching Certification. Looking for a teacher who will effectively teach grade-level standards so that all students are cognitively, socially, and emotionally prepared for the rigor of the following grade level. Instruction should be delivered using highly engaging, research-based strategies that motivate and inspire students to be inquisitive while developing a passion for learning. Great emphasis will be placed on ensuring that Miccosukee culture is seamlessly integrated into lessons throughout the year. Must be able to create standard based lesson plans on a weekly basis that meet the criteria specified in the lesson plan check list form; be organized; use research-based strategies to maintain student engagement & various modes of teaching to keep students; develop solid classroom routines and procedures to ensure effective classroom management; develop a behavior management system that is implemented consistently and consists of rewards and consequences; create classroom rules that are positive and set clear expectations for students; regularly update gradebooks and meet the gradebook requirements detailed by the school; encourage the use of technology; provide students with specific and effective feedback; create a safe and welcoming classroom environment; provide tier 2-3 interventions as needed; other duties as required.
