A well-established private school in Palmetto, Florida is seeking a dedicated Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) or Reading Teacher to join its faculty. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is committed to student success and creating an engaging classroom environment that fosters critical thinking, literacy, and a lifelong love of learning. Responsibilities Teach middle school English Language Arts curriculum aligned with Florida standards. Develop engaging lesson plans that strengthen reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Assess student progress and maintain accurate academic records. Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment. Communicate regularly with parents, students, and school administration. Collaborate with faculty to support student achievement and school initiatives. Participate in school meetings, professional development, and campus activities. Qualifications Florida Professional Educator Certificate or Statement of Eligibility in English Language Arts with Reading Endorsement or Teaching Certification in Reading with Endorsement in ELA is required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (Master's degree preferred). Previous middle school teaching experience is preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Passion for literacy development and student-centered instruction. Compensation & Benefits Starting salary of $60,000 annually, with higher compensation based on education and years of experience.
