Job Description
8th Grade English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy seeks State Certified English Language Arts Teacher for 8th grade. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Elementary Education, Middle School Education, Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, and/or Educational Leadership is a plus. Reading Specialist and/or ESL certification is desirable; 2+ years experience with children in a school setting is preferred. Familiarity with Louisiana Student Standards, the current LEAP Assessment, Guidebooks 2.0 and Lucy Calkins' Writing Workshop Model is an asset. Interest in leading extracurricular student activities is a plus. Trainings and workshops in the summer may be required. Position available August 2026
