Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity as an EL (English Learner) Teacher, working directly with students to help them develop proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking English. In this full-time, onsite contract role, you'll have the chance to create and implement engaging lesson plans designed to meet the needs of non-native English speakers, fostering a welcoming and effective learning atmosphere. As part of your daily work, you'll collaborate closely with staff and students to deliver instruction tailored to diverse backgrounds and learning levels. This position is ideal for educators who are patient, culturally aware, and adept at finding creative solutions to connect with and inspire English learners.
What We're Looking For:
Valid Louisiana Teaching License/Certification with ESL or related endorsements Classroom experience as a General Education or ELA teacher, preferably in a multicultural setting Ability to craft differentiated lesson plans for English learners Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong organizational abilities and classroom management capabilities Deep cultural empathy and a passion for helping students achieve academic and social growth
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver lessons that build English language skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom culture that values diversity Use multiple strategies and resources to address students' varied learning styles Track and assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly Collaborate with other educators and support staff to maximize student success Maintain communication with families, updating them on progress and needs This contract position offers a structured weekly schedule (37.5 hours/week), with the assignment running through May 2027.
