At the appropriate step on the Teachers' Salary Schedule We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Teacher to join the Lamphere Family. In this educational setting with a diverse student population, the successful candidate will inspire and educate students in a positive and engaging learning environment while developing and delivering a curriculum aligned with state and national standards. This role fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills through active collaboration with colleagues and ongoing professional development.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with English (BA) endorsement for grades 6-12 Michigan Reading Specialist certification, Reading endorsement, or demonstrated coursework/training in literacy intervention preferred. Additional certification in any of the following areas
  • Social Studies (RX or CX); Science (DX) or Mathematics (EX), preferred Ability to interact positively with, and motivate, students Ability to use data to plan and adjust instruction Excellent classroom management skills Ability to work with department colleagues to improve student outcomes Proficiency in Google Suite applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.
) and online sourcing tools with functional knowledge of internet use for search platforms Willingness to accept responsibility for student learning and progress Ability to withstand the strain of teaching Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable This position is classified as Exempt Employment is contingent upon disclosure in accordance with PA-189. Ability to withstand the strains and successfully manage the responsibilities of the position. Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality, with a strong record of consistent attendance. Regular and dependable presence during school hours is essential. All staff members are expected to maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward one another at all times. Two weeks paid parental leave.
