The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching our department's paired co-req courses:
ENGL-0043
("Integrated Reading and Writing") and
ENGL-1143
(Introduction to Critical Reading and Academic Writing"). The successful candidate will collaborate with composition and coreq instructors as well as academic support programs to ensure that curricula and student support measures are consistent, up-to-date, and in compliance with state and university guidelines. As a faculty member in the Department of English, Humanities, and Philosophy, you will be expected to: (1) Teach 12 credit hours (4 courses) per semester; (2) contribute to the teaching mission of the department; (3) have a commitment to MSU Texas's core values; (4) Hold regular onsite office hours; (5) Collect and report data necessary for program assessment and state requirements; (6) Communicate and collaborate with faculty and support programs regarding curricula and student progress. The Prothro-Yeager College of Humanities and Social Sciences consists of the academic departments of English, Humanities, and Philosophy; History; Psychology; Political Science; Sociology; and World Languages and Cultures. The Department of English, Humanities, and Philosophy is the largest academic department in the College of Humanities & Social Sciences. Requirements Required Qualifications 1. A master's or doctorate degree in English, Education, or closely related field, with emphasis on Composition; 2. Demonstrated ability to teach freshman composition and developmental writing Preferred Qualifications 3. Continued engagement in professional development focused on teaching writing; 4.
