Position description The Environmental Studies Program at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers who may be appointed to teach undergraduate courses in Environmental Studies-related topics. Appointments are contingent on the ES Program's specific quarter-by-quarter instructional needs and the availability of funding. For a complete list of our Environmental Studies Program courses, please visit our Course Catalog . This recruitment is valid for initial appointments made in Fall 2026 through Summer 2027 . The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the ES Program. Positions may range from 33.33% to 100% time. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The posting will remain open until March 31, 2027 to accommodate program needs. Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Applicants must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies or a related field. Applicants must also have at least 3 years of teaching in Environmental Studies or a related field OR at least 3 years of professional experience in Environmental Studies or a related field. Preferred qualifications Preference will be given to applicants with a terminal degree (Ph.D., J.D. or M.F.A.) in Environmental Studies or a related field AND/OR extensive professional experience in Environmental Studies or a related field.
