Job Description

Utah Valley University is seeking MBA students to apply for graduate assistantships for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 academic year. Graduate Assistants work closely with faculty members and program staff to support teaching, research, student success, professional development, and program initiatives within the MBA program. Assistantship assignments vary by faculty member and area of focus.
Opportunities may include:
support for instruction research consulting projects digital marketing initiatives entrepreneurship programs , international engagement experiences student mentoring business development activities special projects. Graduate assistants gain valuable professional experience while developing skills relevant to careers in leadership, strategy, consulting, marketing, entrepreneurship, project management, and higher education. Key Responsibilities Specific duties vary by assignment but may include: Supporting faculty research, literature reviews, data collection, analysis, and scholarly or professional writing. Assisting with course delivery, student mentoring, tutoring, and instructional support. Supporting curriculum development, course materials, classroom projects, and learning management systems. Assisting with consulting projects, experiential learning activities, case studies, and applied business initiatives. Supporting digital marketing, communications, social media, event planning, and business development efforts. Assisting with employer engagement, networking events, professional development programs, and student success initiatives. Providing administrative, project management, and operational support for faculty, programs, and special initiatives. Completing other duties related to the educational and professional objectives of the assistantship. Minimum Qualifications Must be admitted to and enrolled in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Utah Valley University. Must remain in good academic standing throughout the appointment. Demonstrated academic competence and professional potential. Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while meeting established deadlines. Ability to work professionally and effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in teaching assistance, tutoring, mentoring, research, leadership, consulting, marketing, project management, or professional support roles. Experience with Microsoft Office applications, Teams, Excel, presentation software, and learning management systems. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute to projects with minimal supervision. Interest in leadership, strategy, consulting, entrepreneurship, marketing, business development, operations, or higher education. Professional Expectations Graduate assistants are expected to maintain professionalism, protect confidential information, communicate effectively, and complete assigned work accurately and on time. Students will work under the supervision of faculty mentors and should seek guidance when responsibilities or expectations are unclear.
