Robotics Graduate Student Coord II Job Summary With moderate institutional and departmental knowledge, this position works within the new Robotics program of study in the Price College of Engineering to coordinate a diverse population of students regarding their academic planning and progress. As the result of an interdisciplinary collaboration between constituent departments (Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and the Kahlert School of Computing), the Price College of Engineering is launching a portfolio of new programs of study in Robotics at the undergraduate and graduate level. At the undergraduate level, the students may earn a Minor or Certificate in Robotics. At the graduate level, students may earn a Certificate, M.S. (Project), M.S. (Thesis), or Ph.D. in Robotics. The primary responsibility of this position will be to support students pursuing graduate degrees in Robotics, but this position should also involve coordinating with existing undergraduate and graduate advisors in the constituent departments. Responsibilities Performs administrative tasks to support graduate students in the Robotics programs of study. Activities include, but not limited to, record-keeping, program of study coordination, scheduling, course-planning, graduation tracking. Coordinates with undergraduate advisors in the constituent departments to support undergraduate students who may wish to obtain a certificate or minor in Robotics, or who may wish to do a hybrid

program (i.e. B.S. in constituent department + M.S. in Robotics). Coordinates with graduate advisors in the constituent departments to support students who may wish to obtain a graduate certificate in Robotics, or who may wish to transfer into the Robotics M.S. and Ph.D. programs. Actively participates in campus-based professional development communities, including but not limited to GAPA or other relevant campus-based organizations that directly impact their position. Duties include sub-committee participation. Collects and disseminates information to students, faculty and departments about changes in degree requirements or University policies and adjusts advising strategies as appropriate. May participate in search committees for new hires related to the program, including both staff and faculty roles. Participates in programming communities for students within their area. Including, but not limited to activities such as overseeing a mentoring program, student organization, etc. Advises on graduate committee development. May assign course-work for specific program of study. Provides curriculum feedback at the program level. May submit program curriculum changes to university-wide curriculum tracking. Power user for University-wide application review platforms. Coordinate and organize admission portfolios for graduate committees. Participates in recruitment activities for potential graduate student candidates. Processes graduate school applications and coordinates with graduate committees with any interview processes. Acts in partnership with faculty to coordinate scheduling qualifying exams and defenses. Assists students with developing a working relationship with faculty in the assigned program. Participates in events management related to graduate programs, graduate student orientation, graduate conferences, and professional development events. With increased institutional knowledge, acts as a resource for graduate student roles and is a liaison between the program and the Graduate School on campus. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). 2 years of related experience. Preferences Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Previous experience with graduate programs preferred, either as a student or advisor. Good time management skills and ability to prioritize competing priorities.
