This position focuses primarily on teaching hands-on robotics and STEM classes for preschool and elementary-age students , both at our Bellevue learning center and through afterschool programs at local schools. Unlike more advanced robotics positions, this role does not require a strong engineering or programming background . The most important qualities are the ability to connect with young children, manage a classroom effectively, explain activities clearly and patiently, and create a positive and engaging learning environment. Our younger students learn robotics and basic engineering concepts through hands-on building activities using OLLO educational robotics kits . Curriculum, materials, and training will be provided. Responsibilities Teach hands-on robotics and STEM classes for young children Lead afterschool programs at local elementary schools Guide students through age-appropriate building, robotics, and engineering activities Demonstrate projects and help students successfully build and complete hands-on activities Explain basic STEM concepts in simple, engaging, and age-appropriate ways Keep students engaged and encourage curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking Manage classroom behavior and transitions effectively Maintain a safe, positive, organized, and welcoming classroom environment Recognize when individual students need additional support, encouragement, or redirection Prepare classroom materials and robotics kits before class and organize them afterward Follow Magikid curriculum and lesson plans while adapting activities to the needs and pace of each class Communicate student or classroom concerns with the Magikid team Collaborate with other instructors and staff Assist with camps, workshops, special events, and other children's STEM programs as opportunities arise QualificationsRequired Genuinely enjoys working with young children Patient, positive, energetic, and comfortable interacting with groups of children Strong communication and classroom management skills Able to give clear instructions and maintain students' attention Responsible, dependable, organized, and punctual Comfortable with basic hands-on building and following step-by-step project instructions Willing and able to learn our OLLO robotics curriculum and teaching methods Able to work independently after training Reliable transportation and ability to travel between our Bellevue location and partner schools in the Eastside area Available during weekday afternoon and afterschool hours Preferred Background or coursework in education, early childhood education, elementary education, child development, or a related field Previous experience working with preschool or elementary-age children Experience as a teacher, teaching assistant, tutor, camp counselor, afterschool instructor, childcare provider, or youth program leader Experience managing groups of children in a classroom, camp, or enrichment setting Experience teaching arts & crafts, LEGO, robotics, science, maker activities, or other hands-on children's programs Interest in STEM education, educational robotics, or project-based learning Previous robotics or programming experience is not required. We provide training on our curriculum and robotics materials. Schedule This is a part-time position , with most teaching hours occurring during: Weekday afternoons Elementary school afterschool hours Some weekday early evenings Additional hours may be available through camps, workshops, weekend programs, and special events. Because instructors may be assigned to the same afterschool class throughout a school session, consistent weekly availability and reliable attendance are important for this role. Compensation $22-$28 per hour , depending on teaching experience, education background, and experience working with children.

Reliable transportation is required for instructors assigned to school-based programs.
