Expected Start Date:
Winter/January 2027 $62,440
- $70,857 Starting Base Salary ($62,440
- $112,678 full salary range for the 2025-26 Salary Schedule
- 2026-27 Salary Schedule PENDING).
Potential for additional pay:
Overload
- 60% over base Supplemental contract Typical Duties This position includes both online and face to face instruction, as well as associated planning and committee opportunities.
This position may include day or evening classes and assignments. Instructor will be expected to perform other duties consistent with their faculty job description as stated in the master faculty agreement, including teaching other emergency services courses, instructing practical labs, clinical courses and coordinating special programs as needed. Knowledge and Skills Required Academic preparation and experience in the delivery of innovative, evidence based instruction in emergency medical services education at the community college or university level or equivalent. Ability to engage collaboratively and professionally with colleagues and students to ensure the successful achievement of student learning outcomes. Experience in actively engaging students to think critically while participating in the learning process. Demonstrates ability to provide instruction in a face to face, remote, or virtual learning environment. Demonstrates a strong commitment to lifelong learning and the ability to remain current in emergency medical services and its instructional programs. Demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. Demonstrates leadership in academic setting, including the ability to participate in the work of the department including the both ad-hoc and standing committees and programs. Advises and supports adjunct faculty to ensure consistent standards and instructional practices within each course. Minimum Education and Experience
EDUCATION
An Associate's Degree in the discipline or related field and eight years of recent work experience in the area. State of Michigan EMS Instructor Coordinator License State of Michigan Paramedics License AHA or ARC CPR Instructor ACLS Provider Level
