Responsibilities:
Engage Students with Modern Tools Use cutting-edge educational platforms and apps like Zoom, Interdashboard, Turning Point, Doceri, NearPod, Socrates, Kahoot, and more. Experience with mobile learning, iPads, and iBook creation is a plus! Deliver High-Impact Instruction Prepare course materials, lead lectures and workshops, facilitate small group sessions, and provide one-on-one support to our highly motivated students. Support Academic Growth Advise students individually or in groups, using sound judgment to guide them to appropriate resources. Collaborate with our Academy for Teaching and Learning to enhance student outcomes. Assess and Improve Learning Write and review NBME-style questions, prepare and evaluate exams, and continuously refine instructional materials and teaching techniques. Contribute to Curriculum Development Participate in curriculum reviews and revisions with departmental colleagues, and actively engage in our faculty mentoring program. Stay Professionally Engaged Take part in relevant professional activities to enhance your teaching and subject matter expertise. Collaborate and Lead Serve on faculty committees, contribute to advisory groups, and help shape course content. Facilitate Active Learning Lead Case and Problem-Based Learning discussions and support other departmental initiatives as assigned by the Department Chair or Dean. Uphold Standards Adhere to all institutional policies and standards. Qualifications We're looking for a dedicated medical educator with the following credentials and experience: Education & Credentials Terminal medical degree required: MD, MBBS, or equivalent Residency trained and Board Eligible or Board Certified (preferred) Current medical licensure in relevant specialty Professional Experience Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant clinical or academic experience Active medical practice or substantial experience within your specialty Recent academic appointment at an accredited U.S. or international medical school ( preferred) Experience teaching medical students or residents Familiarity with
NBME/USMLE
environments (desirable) Teaching & Educational Skills Documented record of teaching effectiveness (desirable) Knowledge of adult learning methodologies Ability to use active teaching methods (preferred) Experience with medical education research, including initiating and presenting projects Technology & Innovation Proficiency with educational technology, including: Learning Management Systems (LMS) Audience response systems Online examinations Videoconferencing tools Ability to demonstrate ongoing faculty development in medical education (desirable) Personal Attributes Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic academic environment Commitment to continuous self-improvement Additional Requirements Willingness to reside in Barbados Instructor rank will be determined based in accordance with RUSM's appointment policy Additional Information Ready to inspire and innovate?
