Job Description
Overview:
Overview Responsible for classroom and clinical instruction of Sentara Peripheral Vascular Lab service line in a creative way to foster critical thinking. Provides instruction of the latest technologies- teaches, coaches and mentors on the clinical unit; documenting student progress; completing evaluation activities; writing and evaluating outcome based tests and competency performance assessments related to theory; participates in test development; evaluating competency performance exams; evaluating staff performance; and developing educational progression plans for staff. Maintains noninvasive Vascular clinical protocols and recommends changes as appropriate. Also responsible for participating as a member of the Sentara Peripheral Vascular Lab service line leadership team. Assists the Team Coordinator/Manager/Director with daily operations, coordination of work, quality and service, achievement of operating center goals and objectives, customer satisfaction and in meeting regulatory requirements through providing technical expertise within assigned area. Serves as a technical resource for other team members through participation in quality control and improvement/evaluation activities, staff development activities, and daily support to team members. Five years experience as Registered Vascular Tech (RVT) required. Requires flexibility in work schedule and location to meet established Operating Center's expectations and team development needs. Demonstrated subject matter expert in a minimum of 90% of vascular studies performed at Sentara.
