Faculty Job Description The Physician Assistant Program Faculty position will involve teaching, evaluation, advisement, and mentoring of physician assistant students in classroom, clinical, and other settings. The faculty member is responsible for working with the Director of Didactic Education on any curriculum-related tasks as assigned. The faculty member will participate in the admissions and selection process, in program organization, evaluation, planning, administration, and management and will assist in continuous review and analysis of the programs effectiveness and preparation for program assessment by ARC-PA, LMU, SACSCOC, and others. Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited physician assistant training program and certification by NCCPA or equivalent training as a Nurse Practitioner, Medical Doctor, or Doctor of Osteopathy; eligibility for Tennessee licensure; possession of a masters degree in physician assistant studies or a doctoral degree in a field related to medical science or equivalent teaching experience in classroom and clinical settings, preferably in an institution of higher learning; ; excellent oral, written, organizational, and computer skills. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in a field related to medical science or education; full-time experience in higher education as a faculty member in a PA training program; minimum of two years full-time clinical experience as a physician assistant or equivalent; evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and scholarly activity.
