Yes Position Summary Information Job Description Summary The Medical Laboratory Technology Program is seeking a certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) with phlebotomy skills to serve as a grant-funded adjunct instructor for a mobile training laboratory. This position would travel with the mobile lab to remote regional areas within 50 miles of Weatherford, Texas. This individual is responsible for developing and delivering hands-on laboratory and phlebotomy instruction aboard the mobile training unit, supporting students as they develop foundational clinical laboratory and specimen collection skills. This person will collaborate with the Program Directors of the Medical Laboratory Technology and Phlebotomy programs to develop curriculum, design the layout of the mobile lab, establish relationships with key personnel at target locations, and stock and maintain the mobile learning environment. This person will work with stakeholders and vendors to ensure successful launch and maintenance of grant-funded MLT mobile program. Required Education Associate degree or higher in Medical Laboratory Technology Current MLT certification (ASCP or equivalent) All faculty members must possess minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degreepletion. These standards include an appropriate academic degree and demonstratedpetencies in the teaching discipline. Required Experience Familiarity with laboratory simulations or mobile training environments At least 3 years phlebotomy training and experience Preferred Education Preferred Experience Previous teaching, clinical instruction, or precepting experience Experience working with adult learners or accelerated training programs Recent medical laboratory technician experience (within the last 3-5 years preferred) Essential Duties and Responsibilities Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning oues identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students in and outside of the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, be they face-to-face, hybrid, online, or within the context of dual credit instruction. All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and ad to College policies and prores. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to teach and evaluate hands-on technical skills Strongmunication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt instruction to varied learner skill levels Each adjunct faculty member must demonstrate the ability to instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; ability to provide instruction that will achieve the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses; ability to create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory; ability tomunicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups; ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, gic information, sexual orientation or gender identity; ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources; and, ability to observe the stated policies and prores of the College.
