Job Description

We are seeking a Director of Advancement who will be a key member of our Leadership Team and will oversee the growth in advancement to meet an emerging long-range plan. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the success of all development and advancement functions within the organization. They will also be responsible for directing and overseeing the implementation of special events that promote the advancement of the CEC mission. They work with all members of the CEC community (parents, alumni, staff, Board of Trustees, grandparents and friends) and report directly to the Co-Executive Directors.
Qualifications:
3 years of fundraising experience in a school or nonprofit organization, required Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a related field, preferred Areas of solicitation, constituency development and donor recognition and stewardship, preferred Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to understand, appreciate, accept and interact with people from all cultures and backgrounds Strong leadership skills with the capacity to motivate staff and volunteers, and lead engaging meetings Proficient in data collection, analysis, and reporting techniques Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities Knowledge of event management best practices with ability to negotiate contracts and create partnerships High degree of organizational skills and ability to resume work following interruptions Strong computer skills, including experience in appropriate programs such as Microsoft Office, G Suite, IWAVE, Raiser's Edge, Diamond Mind Ability to work independently and collaborate as a member of a team Willingness to manage tasks beyond those explicitly defined, and provide one's own general clerical support
Responsibilities:
Develop strategy and implement annual giving and capital campaigns, using best practices; fundraise in excess of department costs Plan and implement all major events, solicitations, ongoing advancement and community activities that support the CEC Conduct research on relevant topics and trends to inform decision-making; Utilize data collection and analysis to measure program effectiveness Develop and maintain relationships with donors, and community partners Identify, enlist, train, guide, and support Advancement Committee or other event volunteers Work to produce cultivation and recognition events, the Annual Report, and other campaign and marketing collateral materials Oversee technology logistics as it relates to data processing and tracking of prospects and donor-related records and items Manage all aspects of alumni involvement. Develop strategies to engage alumni of all ages, designed to foster life-long connections to the CEC Plan and produce appropriate projects and opportunities for volunteer involvement Coordinate and implement recognition, acknowledgement, and stewardship of volunteers Following best practices, support capital campaign efforts including moves management and assist with prospect research specific to donors and foundations Execution of the overall communications plan, including mentoring, guiding, and overseeing the Communications Coordinator and Marketing/Community Outreach Coordinator.
