Requirements Job Overview The Assistant Dean for Academic Excellence, Assessment & Outcomes at Berkley School of Nursing (BSON), Georgetown University is a vital member of the leadership team. This position provides strategic oversight and direction for comprehensive assessment systems, program evaluation and outcomes measurement ensuring alignment with the school's mission, accreditation standards, and the broader goals of the University. Representing BSON across the Medical Center campus and the University, the Assistant Dean advances a culture of academic excellence, continuous quality improvement, and evidence-informed decision making. This role works collaboratively with faculty, program directors, and institutional partners to strengthen curricular coherence, enhance student success, and ensure measurable impact across all academic programs. The successful candidate will demonstrate a sustained and visible commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and antiracism while fostering a professional environment grounded in respect, collaboration, and shared accountability. This position reports directly to BSON's Vice Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs. The primary position description is administrative, with 100% effort dedicated to the administrative role. Additional duties include, but are not limited to: Provides strategic vision and direction for assessment, evaluation and outcome measures for BSON programs. Oversight of program level evaluation methods and outcomes - e.g., CCNE, AACN, BON, NLN Center of Excellence, ACME, COA Provides consultation, information, and assistance to individual faculty in all stages of the assessment, evaluation and outcome process. Work Interactions This leader is expected to actively contribute to a culture that values varied perspectives, promotes psychological safety, and upholds the Jesuit principles that guide Georgetown University. This position operates in a hybrid capacity, with an expectation of three days on campus each week to support engagement, collaboration, and institutional presence. This position reports directly to the Vice Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs, works closely with the academic leadership team including the Assist Dean for Innovation and Program Development, specialty track directors and program directors to ensure program outcomes are being met. Requirements and Qualifications Doctorly-prepared with demonstrated experience in curriculum development, academic assessment, program evaluation and outcome measurement. Progressive leadership experience with a proven ability to lead complex initiatives, drive strategic priorities, and achieve measurable results Minimum of five years of academic or relevant professional experience in higher education or a comparable setting Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence, align, and inspire diverse stakeholders across roles and disciplines Demonstrated effectiveness in conflict management, including navigating complex organizational dynamics, fostering consensus, and ensuring accountability Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to collaboration, transparency, and continuous quality improvement Active participation and demonstrated leadership in professional organizations, reflecting engagement with national standards and emerging best practices. Ability to advance institutional priorities through strategic thinking, data-informed decision making, and outcomes-focused leadership Preferred Experience Demonstrated leadership experience in higher education, nursing education, or healthcare settings, with a record of advancing academic or organizational priorities Evidence of excellence in practice, teaching, or research, as demonstrated through certifications, awards, honors, or advanced professional education Teaching experience across undergraduate and graduate programs, with a commitment to academic rigor, student success, and educational innovation Work Mode Designation This position has been designated as Hybrid . Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $80,429.00 - $157,238.93 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
