Shape the future of technology, media, and workforce education at Seminole State College. Seminole State College of Florida is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and forward-thinking Academic Dean - Computer, Digital Media & Information Technology to provide leadership for a diverse portfolio of high-demand academic and workforce programs, including Automotive Technology, Information Technology, Digital Media, and TV/Digital Cinema . This is an exciting opportunity for an academic or industry leader who understands the rapidly changing needs of technology-driven industries and is passionate about preparing students for meaningful careers and continued educational success. The Academic Dean provides strategic leadership for academic programs, curriculum and instruction, faculty and staff, enrollment planning, budgeting, accreditation, industry partnerships, and program innovation . The Dean works closely with faculty, College leadership, students, employers, universities, high schools, and community partners to strengthen programs and create opportunities that support student and workforce success. What You'll LeadAcademic Programs & Innovation Provide strategic leadership for programs in Automotive Technology, Information Technology, Digital Media, and TV/Digital Cinema . Ensure curricula are current, innovative, and aligned with state requirements, professional standards, accreditation expectations, and evolving workforce needs. Identify and champion innovative approaches to teaching, learning, technology, and program development. Evaluate program effectiveness, course content, student learning outcomes, and opportunities for continuous improvement. Lead annual program review and initiatives designed to improve student success, program quality, and outcomes. Monitor emerging technologies, industry trends, and practices and identify opportunities to incorporate them into academic programs. Faculty & Staff Leadership Recruit, hire, supervise, and develop faculty and staff. Build a collaborative culture that encourages innovation, professional growth, accountability, and excellence in teaching and learning. Coordinate faculty and staff orientation, workload recommendations, professional development, and performance evaluations. Support faculty and staff in addressing challenges, resolving issues, and achieving professional goals. Encourage new approaches to instruction and learning that enhance the student experience. Student & Enrollment Success Partner with faculty and College leaders on strategic enrollment management and student success initiatives. Develop class schedules that balance student needs, enrollment goals, classroom utilization, class size, and program requirements. Help address academic concerns, student issues, transfer credit questions, and other matters related to instruction and academic programs. Collaborate across the College to strengthen student pathways, retention, completion, and educational opportunities. Industry & Community Partnerships Build and maintain relationships with industry, employers, universities, area high schools, community organizations, and other external partners . Identify opportunities for partnerships, workforce development, internships, grants, and other initiatives that strengthen academic programs and career pathways. Serve as a key representative and liaison for the Center with internal and external stakeholders. Provide leadership in grant development and manage initiatives that advance the Center's strategic priorities. Help ensure programs remain responsive to the needs of Central Florida's evolving workforce. Strategic & Operational Leadership Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with the College's mission, values, goals, and priorities. Develop and manage budgets aligned with department, division, and College needs. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, College policies and procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and accreditation requirements. Support the effective use, safety, security, and maintenance of instructional equipment, facilities, and resources. Research and interpret applicable laws, regulations, legislative information, and accreditation requirements and communicate findings to appropriate leaders. Collaborate with College leadership and campus partners to advance institutional priorities. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited institution in or related to one of the Center's disciplines. Three years of leadership experience in a college or university, industry training, workforce development, or professional development setting. Experience working in one or more of the following areas: Automotive Technology, Information Technology, Digital Media, TV/Digital Cinema, or a closely related technical or industry field. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree from an accredited institution. Teaching experience at the postsecondary level in one of the Center's disciplines. Experience developing or managing academic, technical, workforce, or industry-focused programs. Experience building partnerships with employers, industry organizations, universities, or K-12 education partners. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to become proficient in Microsoft Teams. The College's salary schedule is available through Human Resources. Work Environment & Schedule This position works in office, classroom, and field environments and may require flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends. The position may require travel between College campuses and local destinations, as well as occasional overnight travel. The College anticipates that the position incumbent must be available throughout the workday and, on some occasions, after regular work hours. As a condition of employment, the incumbent is expected to be available by cell phone and provide a current cell phone number to Human Resources and their immediate supervisor. This position is not eligible for Veteran's Preference.
