Full-Time | Executive Academic Leadership Position Summary Larkin University is seeking an accomplished, innovative, and mission-driven academic physician leader to serve as Dean of the Jacqueline Nicole Michel College of Osteopathic Medicine (LCOM). The Dean serves as the chief academic and administrative leader of the College of Osteopathic Medicine and is responsible for providing strategic leadership across all aspects of the medical education program, including academic affairs, curriculum development, accreditation and regulatory compliance, faculty affairs, student achievement, clinical education, research and scholarly activity, institutional effectiveness, financial management, and community engagement. The Dean will provide leadership consistent with the mission and strategic objectives of Larkin University while advancing the development of a high-quality osteopathic medical education program committed to preparing compassionate, competent, and innovative physicians. Working collaboratively with University leadership, faculty, administrators, healthcare partners, and Larkin Health System, the Dean will ensure that the College maintains the academic resources, faculty, clinical affiliations, infrastructure, policies, and administrative systems necessary to support its educational mission and meet applicable accreditation standards. Qualifications Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Doctor of Medicine (MD), or other relevant terminal doctoral degree from an accredited institution Unrestricted medical license preferred. AOA or ABMS board certification preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of proven academic leadership experience within the previous ten (10) years that includes budget management authority. Demonstrated experience providing leadership within undergraduate medical education or an academic medical institution. Demonstrated knowledge of accreditation, regulatory compliance, curriculum development, institutional assessment, and academic administration. Demonstrated experience managing faculty, academic programs, personnel, budgets, and institutional resources. Strong understanding of osteopathic medical education and the principles and philosophy of osteopathic medicine. Demonstrated ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and develop effective relationships with faculty, physicians, administrators, students, healthcare organizations, and community partners. Strong communication, organizational, strategic planning, financial management, and executive leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications Significant senior leadership experience within a College of Osteopathic Medicine, medical school, academic health center, or comparable health-professions institution. Previous experience as a Dean, Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Chair, or other senior academic leader. Experience participating in the development, accreditation, expansion, or administration of a new or developing medical school. Extensive working knowledge of COCA accreditation standards and processes. Experience with medical school curriculum design, assessment, program evaluation, and institutional effectiveness. Experience with clinical education and development of hospital and physician affiliation agreements. Experience working collaboratively with Graduate Medical Education programs and ACGME-accredited residency and fellowship programs. Demonstrated accomplishments in teaching, research, scholarly activity, clinical practice, or academic administration. Experience developing faculty and building academic departments or educational programs. Experience with strategic planning, institutional growth, and financial management within higher education. Record of leadership and service within osteopathic medical education or relevant professional organizations.
