Associate Dean for Academic Affairs - Associate/Full Professor or Teaching Faculty II/III Rank Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences Department The Office of the Dean in the Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences at Florida State University invitesapplications for an Associate Dean for Academic Affairs position to start in July or August of 2027. For external candidates, thefaculty rank (tenure-track associate/full professor or specialized teaching faculty II/III) associated with the appointment will bedetermined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. The Office of Academic Services and Intern Support(OASIS) is the representative office for the academic dean of the Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. OASISstrives to provide students, staff, and faculty, with the tools and support needed for student success. OASIS serves as the centralrepository for all student records, monitors required academic milestones, provides academic advising and support for undergraduatestudents, collaborates with academic departments to provide academic support for graduate students, and serves as the primary liaisonbetween current students and the Office of the Registrar, the Division of Undergraduate Studies, and The Graduate School. OASIS directlymanages the undergraduate admission process and provides support to academic departments in the admission of graduate students. Additionally, OASIS works with educator preparation programs throughout the university to coordinate internship placements andfield-based experiences with PK-12 schools and students. Responsibilities The Associate Dean for AcademicAffairs serves in a leadership position, overseeing the operations of the Office of Academic Services and Intern Support (OASIS) in theCollege.
LEADERSHIP AND OVERSIGHT
Supervising, assigning areas of responsibility, and evaluating allfaculty and staff within the Academic Affairs unit (approximately 17 faculty and staff). Overseeing the unit's financial planningand budgeting activities.
STUDENT AFFAIRS
Serving as the Academic Dean for all student-relatedprocesses, which includes, but is not limited to: Advising students, faculty, and chairs regarding Grade Appeals and General Grievanceprocesses. Advising the College Student Leadership Committee (SLC).
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Serving as the Academic Dean and the College liaison for University-level entities, including the Office of Accreditation and QualityAssurance, the Office of Institutional Performance and Assessment, the Office of Faculty Development and Advancement, Undergraduate Studiesand the Graduate School. Serving on multiple committees as the College representative for academic affairs. Maintaining theCollege Degree Program Inventory (DPI) and Certificate Program Inventory (CPI) with FSU IR. Assisting academic programs with new degree,major, and certificate proposals. Working closely with chairs, faculty, academic staff, and students regarding the College and FSUgraduate and undergraduate policies and procedures. Overseeing the College curriculum committee and associated curriculum proposalprocess. Approving all Graduate Faculty Status, Graduate Teaching Status, and Co-Directive applications.
RECRUITMENT, ADMISSIONS, & ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT DATA
Overseeing all College academic affairs dataprocesses, including analysis and reporting. Coordinating annual student Program Satisfaction Surveys. Assisting with designand maintenance of the College Data SharePoint site.
ACCREDITATION & STATE PROGRAM APPROVAL

) Serving as FSU's Florida Department of Education Liaison for all educator preparation programs (Anne'sCollege, Panama City, Fine Arts, and Music) Maintaining curriculum, policies, and procedures for all FLDOE approved educatorpreparation programs. Working with nationally accredited programs through assisting in the design and full implementation of studentlearning outcome assessment systems.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Promoting methods for communicatingpolicies and procedures to faculty and academic staff; Supports department academic staff in all areas of academicaffairs. Maintaining a congenial and collaborative relationship with all departments and academic support units within theCollege. Promoting a positive and fair learning environment in collaboration with faculty, staff, and students.
TEACHING
Department responsibilities are limited to teaching and advising doctoralstudents Teaching responsibilities equivalent to one course per academic year in the fall or spring semester for tenure-trackcandidates or two courses per academic year for specialized faculty candidates. Qualifications Earned doctoral degree in a discipline related to one of the academic units in the College. Demonstrated success in researchand/or teaching, depending on the type of faculty line (tenured/tenure-earning or specialized teaching) sought. Prior experience inacademic leadership at the program, center, institute, department, or college level. Ability to analyze data and make data-informeddecisions. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working with state-approved and/ornationally accredited academic programs. Prior experience developing new academic degree programs. Considerations This is a Faculty position. This position requires successful completion of a criminal history backgroundcheck . This position is being advertised as open until filled. The faculty rank associated with the appointmentwill be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. A 9-month versus 12-month appointment will be dependenton the selected candidate's rank and program.
