All candidates must be eligible to work and live in the U.S Department Enrollment Mgt - Transfer Admissions & Engagement - 240400 Primary Purpose of Position Serve as administrative support for Transfer Admissions & Engagement. As the first point of contact (visit, email, phone), ensure the highest quality of customer service to students, staff, faculty, parents, and administrators. Position requires thorough knowledge of Transfer Admissions & Engagement policies and procedures as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. The position requires ability to manage general office duties such as receptionist duties, preparation of documents and email, compiling records, organizing and maintaining files, mail distribution, greeting visitors, answering calls and emails. The position will use a variety of technology platforms including Google suites, Microsoft Office, Banner, Slate CRM, DegreeWorks, and others. License/Certification Required Essential Job Functions Transfer Admissions & Engagement ( TAE) is in the division of Enrollment Management (EM). The mission of the Division of Enrollment Management is to strategically plan, implement, and assess services and programs that facilitate student preparation for college, recruitment, enrollment, and graduation. The mission of TAE is to cultivate an environment that elevates the higher education experience by advocating, collaborating, and providing innovative services to recruit, retain, and graduate students. Additionally, TAE will coordinate programming and services intended to help students integrate into the Appalachian community and improve retention. This Administrative Support Associate role serves as administrative support and first point of contact (visit, email, phone) for Transfer Admissions & Engagement.
Duties & Responsibilities Include:
Ensuring the highest quality of customer service to students, staff, faculty, parents, and administrators. Maintaining a thorough knowledge of Transfer Admissions & Engagement policies and procedures. Maintaining excellent verbal and written communication skills. Managing general office duties such as receptionist duties, preparing documents and emails, compiling records, organizing and maintaining files, distributing mail, greeting visitors, and answering calls and emails. Performing duties using a variety of technology platforms, including Google suites, Microsoft Office, Banner, Slate CRM, DegreeWorks, and others. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position Thorough knowledge of standard and professional office practices and procedures. Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Detail oriented. Proficient computer capabilities and the ability to quickly learn other software products. Transfer Admissions & Engagement is a high contact/high volume department with a strong emphasis on customer service. Schedules and coordinates appointments, meetings and events.

Composes written communication with guidance using standard formats. Composes correspondence involving program or operational procedures independently from general instructions or brief summaries. May design and modify recruiting materials for programs.
Information/Records Administration:
Records, compiles and summarizes data using established format. Compiles and organizes information from different sources to develop reports and data.
Knowledge-Program:
Understands programs and services to apply this knowledge in problem-solving and responding to most questions and inquiries. Uses program knowledge to interface with other offices and organizations. Provides assistance to students with class registration, course permits, course adds/drops and assigns program advisors. Applies knowledge of University textbook policies in relation to faculty textbook order requirements. Applies knowledge of University policies to process university forms, process banner payroll and perform e-verifications.
Problem Solving:
Assesses and may resolve unprecedented problems that require research and review of policy and procedures. Applies judgment for problem resolutions based on delegated authority from supervisor. Type of Position Permanent Full-Time Staff/Non-Faculty Staff/Non-Faculty Appointment Type 1.0 Work Schedule/Hours Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, with evening and/or weekend events scheduled a few times per year.
