Head of School Northeast Academy - Lasker, North Carolina Position Overview Northeast Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, exceptional leader to become our next Head of School. Located in the rural community of Lasker, North Carolina, Northeast Academy has proudly served students and families for 60 years through a commitment to academic excellence, character development, and a close-knit school community. The Head of School serves as the chief administrator of the school and is responsible for providing strategic leadership while overseeing daily operations, academic programs, faculty and staff, student life, finances, enrollment, and community relations. The successful candidate will foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, integrity, and service while honoring the mission and values of Northeast Academy. About the Position The Head of School serves as the chief executive officer of Northeast Academy and reports directly to the Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership while overseeing all aspects of school operations, including academics, personnel, finance, enrollment, student life, facilities, and community engagement. The Head of School is expected to cultivate a positive school culture, inspire excellence among faculty and staff, and ensure that Northeast Academy continues to thrive for generations to come. Primary Responsibilities Provide visionary leadership that supports the school's mission and long-term goals. Foster a positive and engaging learning environment for students. Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate faculty and staff. Promote academic excellence and continuous school improvement. Oversee school operations, budgeting, and financial stewardship in partnership with the Board of Trustees. Support student achievement, safety, and well-being. Build strong relationships with students, parents, faculty, alumni, and the surrounding community. Lead enrollment and student recruitment initiatives while promoting retention. Ensure compliance with applicable educational policies and accreditation standards. Represent Northeast Academy professionally within the local community and educational organizations. Encourage a positive, collaborative school culture that reflects the school's mission and values. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of five years of progressively responsible leadership experience. Experience supervising staff. Strong organizational, financial, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and lead collaborative teams. Experience with strategic planning, budgeting, fundraising, or enrollment management is preferred. Commitment to academic excellence, integrity, and servant leadership.
