For further information, visit www.raritanval.edu . Raritan Valley Community College has an anticipated opening for a College Connections Coordinator in the K-12 Partnerships Department. The College Connections Coordinator supports the early college experiences at RVCC which provides high school students with access to college-level coursework and helps prepare them for success in postsecondary education through concurrent enrollment opportunities. This role focuses on building strong partnerships with school districts, coordinating College Connections program operations, and supporting students, instructors, and school partners to ensure smooth implementation and student success. As the primary liaison for assigned partners, the coordinator manages day-to-day college connection details, provides enrollment and advising support, and contributes to outreach efforts that expand access to college courses, degrees, and pathways.
Essential Duties:
High School Partnership Engagement Serve as a primary point of contact for high school partners (counselors, teachers, administrators) and internal college stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships to support program implementation and growth. Ensure clear, consistent communication regarding program offerings, timelines, and requirements. College Connections Program Coordination & Administration Coordinate day-to-day operations of College Connections activities and experiences in assigned schools, including course approvals, instructor eligibility, student enrollment, and registration processes. Collaborate with internal offices (e.g., Enrollment Management, Testing Center, Finance, Academic Departments) to ensure seamless program delivery. Build concurrent enrollment course sections and maintain accurate scheduling and instructor assignments. Maintain student records and ensure completion of required documentation. Monitor student participation and progress to ensure program compliance and success. Contribute to continuous improvement of systems, processes, and workflows. Deliver responsive, high-quality service to all stakeholders. Student Support & Advising Assist students and families with understanding program requirements, timelines, academic policies and college expectations. Monitor student progress and follow up with students and high school partners for additional support. Refer students to appropriate college resources and support services as needed. Outreach & Recruitment Support recruitment through presentations, information sessions, and outreach with high school partners. Promote awareness of Early College and College Connections opportunities, including on-campus and online options. Support college-wide initiatives to expand early pipeline opportunities, including engagement with elementary and middle school students. Program Development & Strategy Contribute to team efforts to expand and enhance high school to college pathways. Identify opportunities for program growth. Participate in professional development activities. Additional Requirements Occasional evening and weekend responsibilities may be required. Perform other duties as assigned. Bachelor's Degree required. Three or more years of experience working in higher education in advising, admissions, college success, or related fields. Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. Demonstrated organizational skills including the ability to initiate and complete assigned tasks with proficiency and independence. Must be able to effectively interact with a diverse population of K-12 students and partners, college faculty, and staff using tact and courtesy. Able to adapt to changing situations, support team needs, and collaborate across departments to achieve common goals. Excellent collaborative skills with the ability to foster an inclusive and respectful team environment. Experience with integrated database systems and proficiency in MS Office and Banner. Valid driver's license and means of transportation are required to travel to various work locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree, preferred. Community college experience, preferred (college readiness suitable alternative to higher education experience).
