Administrator Seton Hall Law School seeks to hire a Director of Examinations. The Director of Examinations is responsible for the comprehensive administration, integrity, and continuous improvement of the Law School's examination program. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Director oversees all aspects of examination planning and administration, including scheduling, exam preparation and distribution, administration of in-person and remote examinations, implementation of approved testing accommodations, anonymous grading processes, and examination technologies. Working collaboratively with faculty, academic and student affairs administrators, the University's Disability Support Services office, Information Technology, and the Office of the Registrar, the Director ensures that examinations are administered efficiently, securely, equitably, and in compliance with institutional policies, ABA accreditation standards, and applicable legal requirements.Duties and Responsibilities:
Examination Administration and Operations Create and manage examination schedules Coordinate exam logistics and room assignments Prepare, secure, distribute, and collect examination materials Administer in-person and/or remote examinations Coordinate proctors and support staff Develop training protocols for proctors and support staff Coordinate with Disability Support Services to manage examination accommodations and exam accessibility for students with disabilities Coordinate with Enrollment Services and the Law School Registrar to communicate examination protocols, schedules, and procedures to students Ensure examination security and confidentiality Respond to exam-day incidents and irregularities Maintain examination records and retention schedules Coordinate with vendors and IT to manage exam software platforms and maintain examination databases Run reports and data analysis Manage workflow and deadlines Faculty Support Collect examination questions Review examinations for formatting and technical compliance Finalize exam materials Advise faculty regarding exam procedures and policies Support anonymous grading systems Manage exam uploads and technology platforms Student Services and Communication Communicate examination schedules and procedures Advise students regarding exam policies Coordinate accommodations Manage exam conflicts and make-up schedules Address student questions and concerns Policy Compliance and Risk Management Ensure compliance with institutional policies Maintain confidentiality of student records Comply with FERPA and accreditation requirements Ensure equitable administration of examinations Develop and document procedures Monitor examination security protocols Other Responsibilities Other related duties to benefit the mission of the organizationRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree 3-7 years of progressively responsible administrative experience in higher education Experience with examinations, registration, records, and/or academic services Experience managing confidential information Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Proficiency with spreadsheets and data management Exceptional judgment, discretion, and attention to detailDesired Qualifications:
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school or Master's degree in higher education administration or a related field Experience working in a law school registrar's office Experience administering law school examinations Familiarity with anonymous grading systems Knowledge of ABA accreditation requirements Supervisory experience Strong technology and project management skills Knowledge ofFERPA, ABA
