Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Athletics Director for the overall administration of youth, adult & senior athletic activities at the Gloria J. Parks Community Center. The Director shall consider, confer and consult with other supervisory staff members when arriving at decisions which affect overlapping areas of responsibility. Responsibilities Establishes and implements short- and long-range Athletic Program organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement. Designs, establishes, and maintains the Athletics Program structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; recruits, employs, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff. Works with executive staff in developing and managing annual budgets for the Athletics program and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses. Develops and implements operational procedures and practices to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all Athletic Program Activities. Coordination and scheduling of all athletic program activities. Order Equipment & Supplies for the Athletics Program with approval of the Executive Director. Compilation and completion of necessary reports and participant statistics, including those required by funding source. Outreach and public relations for all athletic programs. Act as liaison between the Executive Director, area schools, other youth serving agencies and participants, as they relate to Athletic Department functions. Supervision of gym facilities and equipment: record keeping, maintenance of equipment, inventory of supplies, general upkeep of facilities. Work with other Program Directors to provide structured athletic activities to enrolled clients. Communicate with and provide supervision of outside contractor programs occurring in Athletic facilities. Collaborate with staff to develop and manage fundraising activities. Assist in looking for alternative funding sources for the Athletics program. Any other duties specified by the Associate Director of Operations and Human Services Requirements Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, Recreation, or a related field required Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire) Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in athletics, recreation, or youth programming Demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and evaluating sports and recreation programs for youth, adults & seniors Experience in community engagement and partnership development with schools, nonprofits, and local organizations
Pay:
$21.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
