Exempt Position Summary The Director of Admissions and Recruitment plays a vital role in our organization, which serves students throughout Western New York. Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, this position also works closely with the Admissions and Recruitment Manager, Chief Program Officer, and Executive Director to coordinate and administer all recruitment and admissions activities for Buffalo Prep programs, including Middle School Prep and High School Prep. Essential Functions Manage all admissions and recruitment activities for Buffalo Prep programs including but not limited to scheduling information sessions, attending school open houses, and attending community events as a Buffalo Prep ambassador. Manage admissions staff and volunteers. Identify and implement innovative strategies to expand Buffalo Prep's recruitment efforts. Establish and maintain relationships with feeder schools, churches, community organizations, and prospective families to increase referrals to and awareness of Buffalo Prep. Provide data analysis of information pertaining to admissions. Manage the admissions process of application dispersal, testing and interviewing perspective applicants including all necessary follow up. Create and administer annual admissions calendar. Work in partnership with Program Managers to develop and coordinate general and program-specific recruitment materials for potential students. Provide support services to Program Managers as necessary. Adheres to all policies including Buffalo Prep's Red Light Policy and mandated reporting as outlined by NYS Office of Children and Family Services. Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed. Attend ongoing professional development that enhances learning for your role, department, organizational mission and initiatives, and culture. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree required. Emphasis in admissions, guidance counseling, psychology, sociology or education related field. Professional experience working with students, families, middle school and high schools, and matters involving issues of diversity. Frequent travel throughout the Western New York area is required. Employees must have reliable transportation sufficient to fulfill the travel requirements of the position. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, google suite and constant contact. Experience using student information system and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, experience with Blackbaud preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Interpersonal and communication skills that facilitate individual and group activities with parents, students, school faculty and administrators, the Buffalo Prep Board, Buffalo Prep Executive Director and staff. Ability to network with community service agencies and schools. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
