Purpose:

The Central Registration Representative is responsible for obtaining information to register services. There are three types of registration: face to face, over the phone and clinical. Quickness, accuracy and effective communication are needed to gather information to be assimilated into the hospital system.

Responsibilities:

Pre-registers patients for hospital and specialty areas with accuracy. Registers patients for hospital and specialty areas with accuracy. Processes the transfer of patients from other hospitals and facilities. Performs insurance authorizations for patient registrations as necessary. Processes patients with appropriate diagnosis as required by specific insurance. Performs other related duties as assigned.
