Job Description

Primary Function:
The Development/Communications Assistant supports the Development Director in implementing OHRA's fundraising, outreach and community engagement initiatives. This role involves a mix of administrative support, communications, data management, donor relations and volunteer coordination all aimed at increasing the organization's capacity to fulfill its mission.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
None Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the fundraising and communications goals of the organization including gift processing, fundraising campaigns, events, volunteer coordination and donor communications.
Development:
/
  • Maintain donor database records in Donor Perfect, including gift entry, contact activity, and donor record entry and updates.
  • Manage the timely acknowledgement of gifts and assure that all types of donations (cash, pledges, matching gifts, and planned gifts) are properly documented.
  • Monitor major gifts to keep Development Director current for timely acknowledgements and outreach.
  • Assist with direct mail campaign logistics, mailing lists and mailings.
  • Assist with preparation and implementing of donor and volunteer events.
  • Ensure data integrity through accurate data entry and adhering to established best practices.
  • Assist with production and distribution of recurring appeals and stewardship materials.
  • Assist with writing and editing of guest stories, appeals, acknowledgements, donor news and reports as needed.
  • Communicate with donors in person, on the phone, and by email when needed.
  • Collect and maintain event and tour participant information.
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment and onboarding.
Communications:
  • Work closely with Development Director to help implement communications strategies.
  • Assist with social media strategies and manage social media posts according to plans and schedules.
  • Track and archive all press, social media and other communications about OHRA.
  • Draft and edit communications copy.
  • Maintain a list of web content updates for website.
  • Update contact list databases, including partners, foundations, funders, county and city officials and media.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Highly organized, and able to work independently.
  • Strong computer skills with focus on document generation, database management and use of social media platforms.
  • Experience with meeting and event logistic planning and support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with CRM, Excel, Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software.

Elevator Pay:
