Job Description
The Associate Director for Dyslexia Admissions plays an important role in the success of our Foundations program within Applewild. This position will focus on the outreach and recruitment of mission-appropriate day and boarding students who have diagnosed Language-Based Learning Differences (dyslexia, etc). Our Foundations program offers a prescriptive, sequential, and research-based program that are combined with significant elements of the standard program (advisory, athletics, arts, clubs, etc). We are looking for someone who has experience working with dyslexic students and their families, who appreciates the strengths and needs these students present with, and wants to help them find an exceptional environment to maximize their potential. As a high-functioning, efficient independent school admissions office duties include, but are not limited to: Receive initial inquiries from prospective families. Answer questions and review neuropsychological and IEP documentation. Familiarity with Language-Based Learning Differences as well as neurodiversity. Build relationships with educational consultants, advocates, special education departments, and social media to raise visibility and attract mission-aligned applicants. Steward applying families through the application and enrollment process Use creativity to identify new marketing opportunities for this program Collaborate with the overall admissions team: Works to finalize application files, follows up with applicants when specific items are missing. Scheduling admission tours and visits. Supporting admission events with set up and breakdown. Welcome families to our campus, and ensure visitors are treated with courtesy and respect. Conduct campus tours and participate in open houses. Fluently deploys Google Suite productivity tools (GMAIL, Sheets, etc) and MS Office tools (excel). Models discretion and diplomacy. Being or becoming an expert with Blackbaud enrollment management software. Produces reports for the team so progress can be tracked.
