Director of Student Financial Aid 532249 Anchorage, Alaska, United States On Campus Staff Full-time Grade 83 UAA VC Student Affairs Add to favorites View favorites The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) and the Office of Enrollment Services seeks a Director of Financial Aid. The Director of Financial Aid manages the day to day operations of a fast paced, energetic and student centered office within the division of Student Affairs. This position is part of a dynamic 5 person leadership team within Enrollment Services which isprised of Admissions and Recruitment, Financial Aid, Office of the Registrar, Student Information, International Students Services, and Military and Veteran Student Services. This position will provide key leadership and direction for area of Financial Aid centered around reducing financial barriers for students and working towards strategic enrollment goals for the university. This individual will be responsible for setting vision and direction for professional, classified and student staff that not only ensurespliance and timely processing, but assists in educating students and families about policies, processes and options which aid in financial planning and educational achievement. We are looking for an individual with a thorough understanding of best practices surrounding title IV,pliance, and student financial aid strong supervision background who can develop a dynamic team all centered around themon goal of student success. To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate will bring a minimum of five years of experience in student financial aid at an accredited institution, including progressively responsible leadership within financial aid or enrollment management. Success in this position requires a deep understanding of federal and state financial aid regulations, a strong grasp ofpliance standards, and experience working in a student service-oriented environment—ideally within a large public institution. Familiarity with Ellucian/Banner, strong technical skills, and knowledge of best practices in financial aid administration are essential. The role demands advancedmunication abilities, critical and logical thinking, and a proven capacity for problem-solving and decision-making. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills, the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively, and amitment to working collaboratively with individuals from varying backgrounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related field and five years progressively responsible higher education experience and three years management experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 7 years progressively responsible higher education experience and three years management experience, or an equivalentbination of training and experience.
Position Details:
This is a full-time, exempt staff positionplete with both apetitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generouspensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 83, based on education and experience.
