Job Description

Short Description The Dean of Learning and Teaching will play a crucial role in advancing the Academy's educationalvision. This leadership position involves collaboration with key stakeholders to enhance curriculum quality and promote innovative teachingpractices, ensuring that educational standards align with industry and governmental requirements Key Responsibilities Assist Provost and Vice Chancellor Academic as needed to support strategic goals. Lead the implementation of the Academy'seducational strategy by facilitating the integration of innovative curricula, leveraging resources from laboratories andlibraries. Drive quality improvement initiatives through the development of academic frameworks and a robust digital learningecosystem across academic departments. Work closely with College Deans, Program Heads, Institutional Effectiveness, and businesspartners to ensure academic programs meet maritime industry standards and requirements. Monitor educational provisions in accordancewith the UAE Ministry of Education's standards, supporting year-on-year continuous improvement. Champion Academy's digital learningecosystem for campus based, hybrid, and online learning. Ensure that the educational provisions are research informed and aligned tothe industry needs. Foster a strong learning and teaching community by providing tailored support and professional development foracademic staff, enhancing their instructional methods in line with global best practices in applied Higher Education. Assistacademic staff in delivering high-quality education that caters for the diverse backgrounds and abilities of all students. Bewilling to travel as required and occasionally work outside of the contractual standard working hours.
Qualification, Skillsand Experience:
Qualifications E:
PhD in Education or relevant subject
P:
Recognised qualification for teaching in
Higher Education P:
Relevant industry body affiliation/ membership
Skills E:
Ability to fluentlyspeak, write and communicate in English at the highest level of professionalism.
E:
Team player, approachable, sensitive towards allcultures
E:
Capable of working effectively under pressure, with a commitment to completing tasks promptly and efficiently.
Experience E:
Extensive and expert knowledge and understanding of learning and teaching in highereducation
E:
Minimum of 5 years of academic leadership experience on higher education including evidence of successful changemanagement program
E:
Successful leadership at large-scale improvements or change projects within the area of highereducation.
E:
Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and academic support.
E:
Strong understanding of digitallearning technologies and pedagogical best practices.
P:
Familiarity with the UAE's Higher Education landscape, including policies,practices, and national education standards (QFEmirates, CAA, NQC).
