Short Description The Dean of Research and Faculty Development is the institutional lead for delivering the researchstrategy, enhancing research culture in the Academy, growing income through research and innovation activities, and leading and deliveringas per the governmental requirements on institutional research. This position requires proactive approach to develop academic staff fortheir research activities and engaging with stakeholders to build the Academy's profile externally

Minimum of 5 years of academic leadership experience on higher education including evidence of successfulchange management program

Academic standing and credibility, with evident experience with research and innovation includingsuccessful in winning and delivering major grants, internationally excellent/ world-leading outputs and/ or impact case studies andsuccessful innovation activities.

E:

Strong understanding of digital learning technologies including research database and supportfacilities.

P:

Familiarity with the UAE's Higher Education landscape, including CAA initiatives, policies and practices.

Preferred Key Responsibilities Assist Provost and Vice ChancellorAcademic as needed to support strategic goals. Lead and manage Academy's research profile both internally and externally, researchbudget and income through research and innovation activities and lead on delivering Academy's research strategy. Provide leadershipin organising seminars, conferences and symposia to enhance Academy's research profile by engaging with all relevantstakeholders. Provide strategic leadership and build a supportive and facilitative research culture among staff and students andfoster greater achievements in research & innovation at the Academy. Foster a strong research community by providing tailoredsupport and professional development for academic staff, enhancing their research achievements and by working closely with the Head ofLearning and Teaching to ensure research filters through to classroom teaching in line with global best practices in applied HigherEducation. Work closely with College Deans, Program Heads, Institutional Effectiveness, and business partners to ensure academicprograms are benefiting from research. Lead and successfully develop post graduate research and provide support in the developmentof post graduate taught programs. Champion Academy's digital research ecosystem by working closely with the Librarian andProfessional Support Staff. Monitor research provisions in accordance with the UAE Ministry of Education's standards, supportingyear-on-year continuous improvement.
