Position Summary The Director of Academic Success is responsible for the implementation and day-to-day operation of the law school's Academic Success program. The Director works closely with students to develop effective learning strategies, strengthen academic skills, and enhance engagement with the law school curriculum. Working under the leadership of the Assistant Dean for Academic Success, the Director delivers programming that supports student learning, fosters academic confidence, and helps students navigate the academic demands of law school. Primary Responsibilities Academic Success Programming Teach 2-3 courses each semester Implement workshops and programming designed to develop students' legal analysis, study strategies, exam preparation, and time management skills. Facilitate small-group programs and interactive learning sessions that support student academic development. Develop materials and resources that support effective learning in law school. Individualized Student Support Provide one-on-one and small-group academic counseling to students. Help students identify learning challenges and develop effective strategies for improvement. Support students in developing strong metacognitive awareness and self-directed learning habits. Student Engagement and Outreach Foster a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages students to engage with Academic Success programming. Promote a growth mindset and help normalize the challenges of adapting to law school learning. Collaboration with Faculty and Campus Partners Work with faculty to reinforce academic skills within the law school curriculum. Collaborate with student affairs and academic leadership to support student success initiatives. Program Coordination and Evaluation Assist in tracking participation and outcomes related to Academic Success programming. Contribute to the ongoing assessment and refinement of Academic Success initiatives. Leadership and Program Management Supervise the Assistant Director of Academic Success and oversee the daily operations of the office Manage Langdell Scholars program Qualifications J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school (or equivalent). Experience in legal education, academic success, teaching, advising, or student development preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with students. Demonstrated organizational and program coordination skills. Commitment to fostering student learning and academic engagement.
