Nature & Purpose of Position The Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Programs is a critical member of the college's administrative leadership team and participates in university-wide initiatives. The Associate Dean is expected to assist the Dean of the College of Health Sciences in dealing with the needs of COHS faculty, staff, and students, and providing oversight and evaluation for college-wide initiatives. Primary Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, assisting the Dean of the College with COHS graduate programs portfolio support, COHS research activity support, general administration, accreditation support for COHS graduate programs, faculty matters, COHS organization, internal and external COHS communication, student matters, administration of scholarships, fiscal matters, and interacting with other colleges and divisions within the university. The Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and Research provides leadership for the College's research, graduate education, faculty development, and student success initiatives through directing and managing internal research programs and funding opportunities; supporting faculty research, scholarship, and grant development; serving as a liaison with university research and sponsored programs offices; overseeing faculty mentoring and development programs; providing leadership and oversight for graduate programs and graduate student success initiatives; promoting undergraduate and graduate research activities; overseeing designated student success and outreach initiatives; supporting the development of new academic and clinical programs; and advancing the College's strategic priorities related to research productivity, external funding, and academic excellence.
