Medical Education Coordinator

Job Description

The Medical Education Coordinator (MEC) is responsible for coordinating and supporting the planning, implementation and evaluation of undergraduate, graduate and continuing medical education programs. In addition to traditional program coordination responsibilities, this position supports program development and quality improvement for medical education. Additionally, the Medical Education Coordinator will assist the Recruitment & Onboarding Specialist with potential recruits upon completion of their residency years. The Medical Education Coordinator serves as the key liaison among faculty, learners, institutional leadership, and external accrediting organizations to ensure educational excellence and compliance. The MEC works closely with faculty, residents, fellows, students, institutional leadership, accreditation bodies, and administrative departments. This position coordinates rotations, scheduling, sites, onboarding, evaluations, and site relationships for undergraduate and Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Medical Education (ME). This position works closely with Program Coordinators of residency programs at Augusta Health, as a team coordinating medical education. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or a related field OR 5 years' experience in a healthcare or general education role 1 year experience coordinating complex projects and managing multiple priorities 1 year experience in working directly with students, providers, and outside agencies to build relationships Preferred Qualifications Two to three years of progressively responsible experience in medical education, higher education, healthcare administration, or academic program management Experience supporting Accreditation Council Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or other healthcare accreditation processes Experience with learning management systems, educational databases, and reporting tools Experience facilitating committees or interdisciplinary workgroups Skills Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative while collaborating effectively across departments and with internal and external partners. High level of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and attention to detail when handling sensitive or confidential information. Working knowledge of project management principles and processes. Knowledge of medical education principles and academic program administration. Ability to interpret and apply policies, regulations, and accreditation requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and educational management systems.
