Position OverviewHollins University seeks a collaborative and student-centered University Registrar to provide strategic and operational leadership for all functions of the Office of the Registrar.



Reporting to the Provost and supervising two staff members, the Registrar serves as a senior academic affairs leader responsible for maintaining the integrity of academic records, overseeing degree conferral, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing systems and processes that support the student lifecycle from enrollment through graduation.



The Registrar partners closely with Academic Affairs, Student Success, Information Technology, Admissions, Financial Aid, and other campus stakeholders to promote student achievement, retention, and institutional effectiveness.



The ideal candidate combines strong operational and compliance expertise with a commitment to student success, collaboration, innovation, and data-informed decision making.



Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Records & ComplianceServe as the university's official steward of student academic records and FERPA Compliance Officer.



Ensure compliance with FERPA, accreditation requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations.



Administer academic policies related to student records, academic standing, and degree requirements.



Maintain the integrity, security, and accuracy of educational records.



Registration & Enrollment ServicesLead all aspects of course registration and enrollment processing.



Coordinate academic scheduling and classroom assignments with faculty and Academic Affairs.



Manage the institutional academic calendar.



Oversee enrollment certifications, National Student Clearinghouse reporting, veterans benefits certification, and required state reporting.



Provide enrollment verification and related services.



Degree Audit & Academic ProgressOversee degree audit processes and maintain requirements within the student information system.



Coordinate graduation evaluations, degree petitions, exceptions, and substitutions.



Administer academic standing processes, including probation, suspension, and reinstatement.



Manage degree conferral and academic awards processes.



Curriculum & Catalog ManagementCoordinate curriculum change workflows and governance processes.



Maintain academic program requirements in Ellucian Banner and Stellic.



Lead annual production and publication of undergraduate and graduate academic catalogs.



Student Success PartnershipCollaborate with Student Success and Academic Affairs leaders to support retention and degree completion initiatives.



Provide data and insights to support advising, early-alert efforts, and student interventions.



Identify opportunities to reduce administrative barriers and improve student success outcomes.



Reporting, Data Governance & AccreditationPrepare and submit institutional reporting, including IPEDS, DOE, SCHEV, and accreditation-related data.



Participate in campus data governance initiatives.



Support accreditation activities and institutional research efforts.



Leadership & TechnologySupervise and develop Registrar's Office staff.



Evaluate and recommend technology solutions and process improvements.



Participate on university committees and contribute to institutional planning and policy development.



Remain current on trends and best practices in higher education administration and registrar operations.



Required QualificationsBachelor's degree.



Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in a higher education registrar's office.



Knowledge of academic records management, FERPA compliance, accreditation standards, institutional reporting, and related regulations.



Demonstrated experience protecting the privacy and confidentiality of student records.



Experience with degree management solutions such as Stellic, DegreeWorks, or similar platforms.



Experience utilizing enterprise student information systems and reporting tools.



Experience managing degree audit and graduation evaluation processes.



Commitment to student success, retention, and equitable student-centered practices.



Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across academic and administrative units.



Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.



Ability to work effectively with a diverse campus community.



Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree.



Experience with Ellucian Banner and Orbit Reporting & Analytics.



Supervisory experience in a registrar's office or related higher education setting.



Strategic leadership experience within a college or university environment.



Experience supporting veterans' education benefits certification and compliance.



Experience supporting graduate student records and enrollment administration.



Strong data analytics skills related to enrollment management and student success initiatives.



Familiarity with SACSCOC accreditation standards and compliance requirements.



Experience working in a small liberal arts college or university environment.
